Multiple Medals at the 2025 NZ Ice Cream & Gelato Awards!

We’re thrilled to share that PURE New Zealand Ice Cream has once again shone at the NZ Ice Cream & Gelato Awards, bringing home two Gold, two Silver and three Bronze medals across a range of flavours.
This year’s awards saw a record number of gold medals handed out, with an impressive 20% increase in entries from last year – a massive 29 ice cream and gelato makers competing. Chief Judge Geoff Scott praised the creativity and quality on display, highlighting the strong showing from boutique producers like PURE.
Our 2025 Medal-Winning Flavours
🥇 Gold
- Mango & Coconut Gelato wowed the judges and here’s what they had to say, ‘a creamy coconut base and delicious authentic mango flavour, with a very appealing appearance‘.
- Dark Chocolate Ice Cream - The judges were equally impressed and commented that it has a rich, indulgent, and perfectly balanced flavour with a touch of bitterness for depth.
🥈 Silver
- Tiramisu Ice Cream - The judges loved the beautiful coffee flavour with chocolate notes.
- Boysenberry Gelato - ‘Bursting with berry colour and flavour and smooth and creamy to the finish’, commented the judges.
🥉 Bronze
- Vanilla Bean Ice Cream – a classic elegant flavour.
- Mascarpone, Date & Orange Ice Cream - warm cardamom and spices, with a creamy texture and striking appearance.
- Kaffir Lime & Ginger Ice Cream – a bold ginger hit with delicate floral kaffir notes.

The 2023 results are out and we are delighted to announce that our Dark Belgian Chocolate Sorbet has won Gold! Overall at this year’s awards, we have picked up an impressive 11 medals in a highly competitive industry confirming that PURE New Zealand Ice Cream continues to create delicious, all-natural artisan ice creams the judges and our consumers love.
